Floozies+Too Many Zoos

Iron City Brewing - Birmingham, AL

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again… NEVER MISS A FLOOZIES SHOW! This was my second time seeing them and oh my fuck they blew themselves out of the water compared to last year, especially with the Too Many Zoos collab. The Floozies are a goofy duo that can cook up a savory meal of dubstep, trip-hop, funk, and absolute silliness that eats so hard it leaves no room for dessert! I wanted to hear them play some of my favs like “Nothing to Lose”, “Bus Ride”, Denim”, and “Get Go”, so lucky for me, not only did I get all of my songs, but three of them were in a row! Magic.

And for years I’ve listened to some Too Many Zoos before and loved what I heard, they’re definitely one of those bands that between live performances and studio recordings are two wildly different versions. Their sensual blend of synth, drums, sax, trumpet, and funk left me feeling like I just got Careless Whispered all night long! Whoever pitched the idea that these two bands get together - thank you, this is what the world needs right now. If you aren’t on the Too Many Flooz tour train, you’re in the wrong timeline…better hop on!

Sadly, like the majority of shows I attend, I wish I had taken pics or videos of the experience, but they would have never done it justice - even with feeling some minor regret for that, I still wouldn’t change a damn thing about that night. We had the whole fam jam out for this one, a group of 11 cutting up and cutting rugs together, vibing with the crowd, and sharing an abundance of love all around. That’s all we really need.
